Why are the Yankees cosidered "out"?

my friends. just about everyone who gives a responce to a playoff question says the yankees will not make the playoffs. These are the 15 straight playoff berth New York Yankees. they make the playoffs every single year. every year. last year they were in much worse shape. much worse. how do you figure they wont make it this year? what the collapsing rays will overtake the wild car? please...
