If evolution is true, why are there still monkey's, fish, and retards?

I am seriously just wondering. Not trying to start any debate over creationism vs. evolution. I want to hear the biological/evolutionary explanation for this because it doesn't make sense to me right now that we evolved from monkeys, but there are still monkeys that don't even begin to look like humens.
