What is okay with society?

What is okay with society? according to most parents, it is wrong for teens to have , do drugs, drink, ect. But also, teens are looked down on for things such as piercings, pda, radical colored hair, the way they dress. Does society want every teenanger to wear christian school uniforms, not touch their hair, and not have significant others until there old enough to support a family, and leave there body the way it came. If people didnt have these "socially taboo" difference, where would the individaulity be in the world?
