Why do some heavier bands like staind get less heavy as they progress ?

i prefer less heavey bands but some people complain because the musics not heavey enough eg on the new staind record wich i cant stop listening to people complained it wasent heavey enough and the same with like sytem of a down linkin park korn to some extent on there see you on the other side album
